Objective : To lay down a procedure for the description of Health and Personal Hygiene.
Scope : This Standard Operating Procedure is applicable for all the employees at pharma industries.
Responsibility
HR Department is responsible for the implementation of the procedure mentioned in this SOP.
It is the responsibility of all the factory employees to follow this procedure.
Accountability : HR Head & QA Head shall be accountable for the implementation of this SOP.

SOP: Standard Operating Procedure; a document where step-by-step instructions are cited to serve as support for methods or manners of fulfilling a function or functions reliably and consistently.

Procedure
Health and personal hygiene is important aspect because it plays a cardinal role in the end product quality. Educational program on Health & Hygiene motivates the person to observe personal hygiene & awareness about health. For sound health and hygiene perform as follow:
A sick person can contaminate the product and also can spread infection if he/she is suffering from infections disease, so all personnel is instructed to report the management in case of any illness, injury or open lesion that might spread infection and affect the product quality so that the person can be sent for medical checkup.
It is the responsibility of the management to carefully study the comments and advice given by the medical practitioner for the sick person and in case of any discrepancy appropriate action should be taken with intimating the same to the Managing Director of the company.
Medical examination of workers at the time of employment and periodical checkup thereafter once in a year, with particulate attention is being devoted to freedom from infectious conditions. The medical practitioner examines each employee for the parameters listed in a report copy.
Make a well-equipped First Aid Box with necessary medicines in case of an accident.
Before entering the production area remove the street cloth outside the area and wash the hands using soap and sanitize your feet by using a soak system having disinfectant and then wear the protective garments.
Wash your hands regularly after visiting the toilets and after snacks, lunch, dinner, or other activities and dry underhand drier provided in the changing area before returning back to work.
Talk minimum while working in the production area to minimize particulate the microbial contamination
Take bath daily and change to fresh cloth daily.
Clean hair regularly and keep well controlled.
Cut your nails regularly and scrupulously clean.
Avoid smoking and drinking because it is injurious to health.
Eat fresh food and drink fresh water.
It is the responsibility of Torque Management to provide good quality drinking water for the good health of factory employees.
Clean your working area daily to avoid the risk of contamination.
