Cleaning procedure for Softened Water Storage Tanks

To implement the cleaning procedure for Softened Water Storage Tanks.
This SOP covers the cleaning procedure for Softened Water Storage Tanks.
Procedure:
Ensure that there is no production activity in the concerned area.
Turn off the tank which should be cleaned and put a sign “UNDER PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE”
The person, who carries out tanks cleaning should wear:
• Cotton pants and jacket.
• Rubber apron.
• Rubber boots.
• Rubber gloves.
• Cotton beret.
The tank should be cleaned with water using the cotton cloth adding the cleaning agent.
After removal of all deposits from the tank walls, drain the water and rinse the tank with clean water.
Visually inspect the tank for cleanliness, and carry out additional washing of some parts of the tank if necessary.
Fill the tanks with fresh water.
Make records in the Log Sheet of softened water storage tanks cleaning.
FREQUENCY
Once in 30±5 days (depending on the schedule of the preventive maintenance in the Production area and control measurements).
ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
All tanks should be visually clean
